25 Minute Presentation - In Person

Description

Open Source communities grow when passionate individuals step forward to represent and advocate for them. Becoming a GNOME ambassador is one of the most effective ways to introduce new people to Free and Open Source Software and build sustainable local communities.

In this talk, I will share my journey of acting as a GNOME ambassador and the efforts to build and grow new and existing GNOME local communities. Through this experience, I learned practical strategies for outreach, advocacy, and community development that help transform individual enthusiasm into collective impact.

The session will focus on how contributors can represent GNOME in their local ecosystems, organize activities, and inspire new contributors. By sharing real examples, lessons learned, and actionable steps, the talk aims to empower participants
