Getting Around A Coruña
A Coruña is a highly walkable city, you will get around easily by walking if you don't mind the ocassional hill. Here are your main options:
Buses
- Operator: Compañía de Tranvías de La Coruña (visit itranvias.com to get real-time information on the network).
- Coverage: Great coverage throughout the city.
- Frequency: every 15-30 minutes (5-10' frequencies on the university line)
- Night service: None. Service ends at 22:30
- Tickets:
- 1,30€ when paying with cash
- Debit/Credit card payments are not allowed
- 0,45 when paying with a transit card or with the app App Coruña
You'll be most interested in Línea UDC, which is the line that connects downtown with the venue by Campus de Elviña. Línea 5 may also be a good option.
• Línea UDC: It connects downtown by Plaza de Pontevedra and Campus through the main road Alfonso Molina with very frequent buses. Expect it to run every 12' on weekdays and every 40' on Saturday. This line doesn't work on Sundays. You should stop at Campus de Elviña, glorieta. And take it back downtown from Intercampus, glorieta Elviña.
• Línea 5: It goes from the tip of the peninsula, at Torre de Hércules to really close to Campus. During the weekdays you can get it every 20' and on Saturdays every 25', and you can stop at Espacio Coruña, 10 minutes away by foot from faculty. On Sundays, as there is no Línea UDC service, there is an extra stop just 5 minutes away from campus, Aurelio Aguirre Galarraga were you can stop or take it back to downtown.
• Línea 24: This line may be useful to get to the pre-registration party on Wednesday. If you take it towards O Carón and stop at Nova York, A Zapateira it is a small walk.
Note: To go to the conference dinner on Saturday, you can take Línea 5, directly from Espacio Coruña and stop at A Maestranza, Metrosidero. Another quick option (maybe even quicker than Line 5!) is to take Línea UDC towards Praza de Pontevedra and stop at Praza de Ourense, where you can take any of lines 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 23 or 23A and stop at Abente y Lago (if you paid with App Coruña, the transfer is free).
Bike sharing (Bicicoruña)
- Public Bike Rental System with coverage all over the city
- For 10€ you can get an occasional subscription for a month, it costs 0,015€ to 0,03€ each minute of bike riding

- No stations on campus. The closest one is 10-15' by foot (500m)
