Traveling to Nepal

Visa requirements

Visa requirements for visiting Nepal vary depending on your nationality. However, please note that visa regulations and requirements can change, so it is essential to verify the latest information from official sources like the Nepalese embassy or consulate before planning your trip.

Passport Validity: Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your entry date into Nepal.

Visa on Arrival: Many nationalities can obtain a visa upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and several land border crossings. This visa is usually valid for 15, 30, or 90 days.

Online Visa Application: Some countries are eligible to apply for a visa online before arrival through the official Nepal Immigration website.

Visa Extensions: If you plan to stay longer than the initially granted visa period, you can apply for a visa extension at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or some immigration offices across the country.

Tourist Visas: Most visitors to Nepal require a tourist visa for recreational and sightseeing purposes.

To expedite your entry, we recommend making sure these documents are ready upon arrival (if required):-

  • Accommodation/Hotel reservation
  • Return tickets
