Description
TealinuxOS is a Linux distribution created by Indonesia’s student-led community Doscom, designed to make learning Linux easier for beginners. This talk will cover the technical process of building a custom distribution, how the community manages contributors, and how open source collaboration can strengthen the FOSS ecosystem across Asia.

| Talk Description | TealinuxOS is a Linux distribution created by the Dinus Open Source Community (Doscom) in Indonesia. Its mission is to make learning Linux easier and more approachable for students and first-time users, featuring a user-friendly installer and a clean, intuitive UI/UX. In this session, we would like to: Introduce the history and motivation behind TealinuxOS Show how we build and maintain a custom Linux distribution for education Share how the community collaborates to keep the project alive Demonstrate the TealinuxOS installation experience live We believe this will give the audience inspiration on how local communities can build impactful open source projects, and how collaboration with global initiatives like GNOME can empower more people to adopt Linux. If possible, we would prefer to have a community booth to showcase TealinuxOS interactively — allowing participants to try the system hands-on, explore the installer, and directly engage with the community |
